Categorization System
My theory#
- Most FS are with tree structure. Yes every file/folder(hereinafter node) belongs to one folder
- #APP-IDEA A non-tree-structure FS (same as tag+symlink), nodes can belong to multiple folder.
- Nodes can be organized with indexing to sort/classify creation time, last visit time, purpose of creation.
- For UX, its better to build a measurable system for classifications. (e.g. I used " difficulty of achieving" for "life-record")
- For human brain, we should use the same structure on every system, e.g. browser bookmarks, hard disk files, notes like this website and time tracking.
Some classification examples#
- Use the main purpose of the activities.
- Core: activities, time-tracking, note, plan all link to activities.
- Chapter names are the corresponding measurements. The measurement you take partially represents what you value more.
economic income#
- work / profitable freelancer works
- practice of working skill
- learning of working technique (programming language)
- long-term investment (reading books, health, language, forming new habits)
- personal stuff (buying and selling, cook, pay-to-solve)
- leisure (Youtube, gaming, hanging out, travel)
- life-support activities (meals, toilet time, sleeping)
personal development#
- Physiological
- Safety
- Love and social belonging
- Esteem
- Cognitive
- Aesthetic
- Self-actualization
- ~~Transcendence~~
How much you can learn. How much effort lives inside.
- spiritual activities (museum, book, new habit, meditation, religion, problem solving ability, academic)
- professional self-actualization (work, tool, taking notes)
- self-actualization (sports, teaching, charity)
- cognitive and aesthetic activities (language, writing, art, movie)
- social activities (family, love, friend, comforting skill)
- life-support activities (meals, toilet time, sleeping)
Replace-ability#
- How much to pay others to do this job.
- This is still a money-based measure.
How do I categorize#
Using this personal development system.
