Testing Dendron
After comparing dendron and foam I decided to try out dendron first. Reasons:
- Dendron has a comparison chapter [#LINK], which gives an impression of confidence.
- Dendron has more tutorial videos.
- Despite that Foam has more forks and like on GitHub.
Dendron capability test#
- Possibility to organize notes via folders. Too many notes with plain structure is too old school and hard to read all categories. (Solved: no folders, but there's a "tree view" of notes)
- Partial publish. It's possible to publish with Dendron-CLI. But to export, we cannot do the partial export for MkDocs for theming.
Currently (@2022-04-05) the best practice for adding a theme is to export then use MkDocs, or whatever users want.
What do I like in Dendron#
Hierarchy of notes; every page has an index.
Why I didn't move to Dendron#
- Publishing can only be either without theme or without unpublished note.
